Dear Gmail, Facebook, and all other “personalized” ad generating sites

Dear Gmail, Facebook, and all other “personalized” ad generating sites,

I AM ALREADY GETTING MY MFA, THAT IS WHY SO MANY OF MY EMAILS ETC. MENTION THE ACRONYM MFA, SO NO, I DO NOT NEED YOUR AD FOR AN MFA PROGRAM THAT FEELS THE NEED TO ADVERTISE IN MY SIDEBAR.

Also, Amazon, I do not need:

  • a pair of headphones
  • an audio book on labor and delivery
  • or an mp3 player

to go with my purchase of a novel.

WHO THE HELL DOES THE FEEDBACK LOOP FOR THESE THINGS?

Watch. This is real:

  • Flute Music Notes »

Duh funny jokes (versus those unfunny ones) belong in a group with flutes. Have you seen American Pie?

TWO
  • Think Your Dog is Cute?: See how your dog stacks up against these super cute puppies!
  • Cartoon Yourself For Free
  • Baby Monkey Pictures: Search multiple engines at once for baby monkey pictures

Ooooh, baby monkey pictures?!? Ahem.

THREE

  • Funny Baby Photos »
  • Extreme Funny Baby Photos

WHY ALWAYS WITH THE BABIES, AD SITES? WHAT’S WITH YOUR NEED TO PROCREATE?

MM

PS— Do you think if I kept sending that email back and forth to myself it would send Gmail into some sort of dog/baby/monkey/funny existential spiral vortex?

Right?! I am constantly bombarded with ads and e-mails titled “Want to learn photography?”

Is facebook trying to tell me I’m a shitty photographer?
